Hello! My name is Alex Vertiz and I am a certified notary in the state of California! I recently became a certified notary public this year in Orange County. My notary certificate allows me to notarize anywhere in California, so if you are not located near Whittier, CA, no problem! It has always been a goal of mine to start my own business and AV Notary & Co. is just the beginning of that goal being realized!
My story begins in Whittier, I spent my childhood and adolescent years in Whittier graduating from Pioneer High School in 2017. After high school I really did not have any plans for my future. My dream was to be in a rock band and tour the country! I considered myself to be a serious musician and wanted to tour with my friends. Not long after, I realized that my dreams seemed too far out of reach so I began working so I could fund my college degree. I worked different jobs over multiple years living paycheck to paycheck. I was unhappy since most of these jobs were stressful and had no growth opportunities. However, in 2023 my good friend Eddie Matta offered me the opportunity to work for his independent wedding videography business (Kreative Kontrol Media) as an assistant videographer. I loved doing it and still do! He inspired me to start my own business so I can be my own boss and call my own shots! I do still plan on starting a separate business dedicated to Real Estate Photography since I am now knowledgeable about the business side of things as well as the photography side!
In early 2025, I began working at CRM Lien Services as a document processor for my regular 9-5 job. CRM processes preliminary notices and liens for construction companies, and even though the job itself is not an interesting topic for discussion, I was given the opportunity to receive my notary certificate all paid for by management. It so happens that before I began working at CRM, I was interested in becoming a notary at the recommendation of a close family member. I immediately jumped at chance as I knew this would be a perfect choice for a second source of income and I knew I could easily pass the test. After studying hard for multiple weeks, I took the test in early March and continued the process, finally becoming a certified notary public in early May, 2025!
